how do you tune a guitar to drop-d or to any other key?

Tex. When you normally tune at the 5th fret for standard tuning do it on the E string at the 7th fret instead. When doing this match notes with the A string and you should dropped D tuning on the low E string and only the low E. Your A string should come across sounding just the same. Refer to Deftones tab for some great songs using this tuning.
