what r the dots for? the white dots

They represent the different frets...different guitars have different amounts of dots on the frets. BAsically, they are a fast way to help you keep track of where you are playing on the neck. For example the third fret may have one dot, while the seventh perhaps two.

the dots are for amusement only, take a large black marker and connect them and see what kind of picture it makes.......

the dots were put there in 1891, by a proffessor at Hiez University. He put them one there cause he was stoned, no joke
