Question

Asked by Tim on 2003-03-05
Anyone have input on scales/modes etc. used to improvise over a 12 bar jazz-blues progression, such as Route 66?

Hey Tim, when playing blues I like to integrate pentatonic minor scales into my 12-bar progression. "A" minior pentatonic and "E" minor pentatonic have a bluesy sound to them. This may add some flavor instead of just playing the typical blues scales all of the time.
