should you strum power chords?

It depends on what you play. strumming power chords is very common, you only strum the notes you hold usually and from time to time you will also have to mute the string you're gonna strum. if you can be more spesific i might be able to give you more help

What ever you do -DO NOT STRUM CHORDS- as this will cause them to vibrate which in turn will cause sound. Now we all know that we do not want a guitar to make any sound right ? Damn right.
