If you want to tune it like KoRn does then tuen strings EAD down 4 steps and tune strings GBe down 1 step. To tune it to a standard seven string, tune strings EAD down 3 steps and keep GBe normal or something like that. But you need to get a set of .010 strings or heavier cuz if you don't the top strings will just flop around.

A better idea is how to make a six string guitar sound like a 5 or 4 or less string guitar. Just bust a few strings and viola, thats all there is to it.
