Power chords are used on almost all modern rock tunes like AC/DC, Megadeth, Metallica, Guns n Roses, etc.... Power chords are usually only two or three notes played simultaneously unlike regular chords. Also they are at an interval of a 5th. HUH? Try playing these power chords: e-------------------------------------- B----------6--------------------------- G----------6--------------------------- D--4-------4--------------------------- A--4---4------------------------------- E--2---2------------------------------- you can move the chords up and down the neck and change between strings.

Power chords are the easiest thing to play on a guitar. Hence, most modern rockers use them because they have little or no guitar talent. Enough with the opinion. To play a power chord, just play the first fret on sixth string and the third frets on the fifth and forth strings. You can move up and down the fret board with your fingers in this position.
