What are the numbers on the music for?

The numbers are there for you to count when you have nothing else to do, just like the letters are there for you to read when you've run out of books... huh ?

the numbers on guitar tablature are an indication of which fret the note should be played on. I seriously suggest you get some more help on this - it is a fundamental part of reading tablature.
