The Master of All Things Rock... A power chord is generally two to three strings hit simultaneously, and beyond that I'd have to use diagram, such as: Exerpt taken from the chorus of Metallica's "For Whom the Bell Tolls" e--------------------------------------- B--------------------------------------- G--------------------------------------- D------------------2------------3------- A--2-2-2-5---2-2-2-0---2-2-2-5--1-4----- E--0-0-0-3---0-0-0-----0-0-0-3----2----- That's TAB, btw, and if you don't know how to read it, I suggest suicide (not). Here's how: eBGDAE= strings 1-6, or smallest to largest [dashes]= nothing [numbers]= fret your guitar here You'll have to figure out the fingering yourself, I use my index & ring fingers. Now, hopefully you've noticed a pattern, if not, go ahead and kill yourself, you're hopeless. Anyway, that's the most popular type of POWER chord.
