Try taking one of the 3 or 4 minor scales and write down the notes. next, find and write out a triad using the first, third, and fifth notes of the scale. That will be your first chord of the scale.Next, take the next three notes[second, fourth, andsixth notes.]That will be your second chord of the minor scale.Do this same trearment with taking each new note of the scale untill you have 8 chords.Notice that the 8th chord is just like the 1st.These will be triads or 3 note chords.Learn these first.Maybe do this with the major scale also. The Geo. Van Epps book is good fof this-it;s all written out! Good luck-I;ve been working on this stuff recently myself. Tim DeHuff
