I want to know how to make a solo in a song! I konw some scales, but I don't understand how to use them! someone can help me? please! !!

first try to play the melody line.start with simple song some slow blues would be good.if you can whistle the song play those notes.then once you have a basic solo then start to add to it. hope this helps good luck.

i neva got lessons, but learnt to solo first by learning a whole heap of metallica solos, then trying to understand how they work. Through that i saw that there is a pattern which kirk follows - this is a scale use scales such as e pentatonic minor (blues if u want) to play over the top of alot of metallica - fiddle around - youll get it
