what is vibrato?

Vibrato is shown in tablature like this: --------------------------- --------------------------- --------------------------- ----5~~~~------------------ --------------------------- --------------------------- to play a vibrato note fret the note and then after struming it slightly bend the note back and forth a tiny bit.

vibrato is the inflection of a note. it is done by fretting a string and quickly moving your finger back and forth on it to make the pitch rise and fall
