Question

My guitar will not stay in tune. is it OK to twist the tuning prongs so everything goes up an octave. It will have more tension and probably will stay in tone better, is this correct ?

Well it depends. Do you have to tune your guitar every time you want to play it or does it go out of tune in the middle playing?

Twist them enough to go up one octave, but you will have better luck if you go up 2. Firm strings rock. I have 8 guitars and every one is tuned tight and they never go out of tune. Trick is to tune low e first.

you should never do that
