I know there are already a lot of questions on this but I would really appreciate this if you answered my question on how you tune a guitar a half step lower(drop D tuning) by ear. Thanks.

turn the tuner at the top of the guitar till the string snaps, that would be dropping D.

Alright dude, you wana tune to drop D by ear? i will tell you the easiest way. Hit your E string and your D string open, and tune down your E just a little till it sounds like the D string. Wah-la, DADgbe (bar every chord to replace a standard power chord) Have Fun!

what i would do is play the 7th fret on the 6th string. Try to tune it down until that 7th fret matches wiht the 5th string.
